Folksam calls for resignation of TeliaSonera board

In its role as an active TeliaSonera shareholder, Folksam is calling for TeliaSonera’s board to stand down in the light of the company’s business conduct in Uzbekistan.

“Folksam maintains a keen interest in what our customers care about, and as a TeliaSonera shareholder we consider it necessary for the board to be replaced in order to create a greater focus on internal governance and profitability without any ethical compromise,” states Carina Lundberg Markow, Head of Responsible Ownership at Folksam.

Friday the 1st of February, Folksam will be taking part in a meeting of TeliaSonera’s major shareholders that has been called by the Swedish Minister for Financial Markets Peter Norman.
